Glitz & GirlPower Awards
Tuesday, March 27th was a night to remember as guests arrived for the 3rd Annual Glitz & Girlpower Awards ceremony celebrating the accomplishments of women in business and entertainment. Amongst the distinguished honorees were Amara La Negra, Michele Green, Shawntrell Hudson and Lisa Raye. Glitz & Girlpower Honorees were recognized for the powerful work they’ve done and most importantly the lives they’ve impacted along the way. Amidst those in attendance were affluent male figures within the entertainment industry such as Flo Rida and Ace Hood whose partner Shelah Marie would be honored.
Hosted by media personality Sandy Coffee and Miami Dolphins' Bryant McKinnie, the venue, Briza on the Bay was full of life and laughter. The feeling of love engulfed the room, manifesting itself in each moment. One of the most memorable moments was the adoration of Shelah by Ace Hood. Front and center, as she would accept her award, Ace was not only physically present but emotionally supportive as he proudly cheered her on.
The love shared between a mother and child was evident in the relationship between honoree Michele Green and son [host] Bryant Mckinnie as she shared her experience as a single parent. Her selfless dedication to seeing her child meet his full potential in spite of the difficulties they faced is a true testament of a mother’s love.
With performances by YCDT dance group and 103.5's own Stichiz paired with a tuna dip from heaven, the 3rd Annual Glitz & Girlpower Awards was an incomparable experience that displayed the genuine effect of just giving love and public recognition.
